Ordering Foreign cash in Australia

Recently I’ve ordered foreign currency for a couple of trips and found the banks to be not so competitive. For small amounts it probably doesn’t matter too much, but I hate to give banks more money than is needed to fund their massively obscene profits. I pick a bank site and put in the AUD amount I want to convert. As they only supply round numbers of currency, I then pick a nice round amount of the foreign currency and put that in the conversion calculator. It shows a total amount with the commission they will charge. I then put the same foreign amount into a couple of other bank sites, and also into Travelex, e.g. CBA and Westpac. In both cases Travelex was cheaper. The only downside with Travelex is that they have a limited number of branches, but if there is one near you then you’re OK.
